Every time I open this page to write an entry I never know what to put anymore.
Today I have Archaeology in about 35 minutes, and I've been grappling with the paper that I have due in that class. I'm thinking I'm going to write about Mummies. Hackneyed, over-done, and down right boring to some, I'm hoping that by tweaking my topic I can provide an interesting spin. I'm thinking of writing about "screaming mummies," referring to the horrifying body positions and facial expressions left on the dead after death.
Good deal, yah?
After that It's Witchcraft at 4, which I'm not really looking forward to. I'm not really "in to" the book we're reading, and my group is driving me up the wall.
Speaking of Groups, my group for Ethics has yet to be productive about our assignment. I think I'll jump on that tonight and look up organizations we can volunteer for.
my brain is buzzing.
I'm tickled pink.

The Way I See It # 486
I feel exhausted, and I still have the whole day to finish. I went to yoga this morning. Rather, I dragged myself out of bed and forced myself. Since I didn't go on Monday, I felt like today's yoga session would be hard, and it was. I definitely felt it, and I have yet to really master a lot of the moves. Maybe if I practiced every day it would work out, but for now I'm feeling like a rubber band... I stretch out and snap right back again.
The weather has been ridiculous. I wore shorts on Monday, and yesterday I was caught in a thick snow flurry. While it was magical at the moment, I'm waiting for Summer to come along.
But while I'm dreaming about Belle Isle, tanning, and hot weather, I'm stuck in the library (well, maybe not stuck) trying to focus my attention on Archaeology. I shouldn't have looked at the blackboard site, because after finding out that this exam only counts 15% my motivation has taken a serious plunge. In all other respects I'm feeling good, besides exhausted. I went to 821 this morning and had lox and bagels, which was even more satisfying than I could have hoped for. Everything Bagel+Lox+Cream Cheese+Basil+Tomato= awesome. I'll have to spread the word to my family when Christmas brunch comes around.... in another year.
My aspirations for starting up a fashion magazine at VCU have been slightly squashed. I went to a party run by the guy who heads Ink Magazine (MISHAAA), and I talked to him about it. He kind of discouraged me, but at the same time encouraged me to submit some stuff about fashion for Ink. I'm still debating, however it seems that everyone is writing for the Magazine; Misha, my friend Marc, and now apparently Sid who has decided to write an article about a subject that most of us would leave at home.... interesting.
some cool sites I've been addicted to the past couple of days:
www.notcot.org
It's a design based blog where anyone can submit material to be published on the site. Really cool. basically if you find something interesting online, they encourage you to share it with everyone. Awesome for inspiration and hours of procrastination
www.notcouture.com
A sub-site of NotCot, Notcouture is all about fashion, and I'm excited to say that some of my submissions have made it to the site, which is both exciting and addicting. They promote designers, showcase collections, and it's a good place to find obscure things not seen in the mainstream blogosphere.
lately i've been googling "how to cut your own hair" because I'm trying to avoid going home/paying for travel at all costs. Really, i would like to cut my bangs, but what I've found online hasn't been very helpful. Does anyone (ie: no one) remember that gadget they used to run infomertials for that was like a comb, but it cut the split-ends off of your hair? I need that like I need air to breath, my hair is in such bad shape.
For this blog having the name "My Life As A Starbucks Coffee Cup", I had only had plain coffee from Starbucks once, and it was at a time that I didn't like coffee, so it tasted bad to me. However, I'm drinking a grande House blend, and it is absolutely terrible. Starbucks, what is your problem? This coffee is so bad, I can barely drink it. Where is an IHOP when you need one? IHOP coffee is so good... i miss it. Are there even pancake houses in Richmond, VA? Can someone point me in the right direction?
Interesting facts I've learned in school so far:
1. An Australopithecine Child's (Pre-Homo habilis/ Homo Erectus) skull was found in Southern Africa. Upon closer review just recently, several puncture marks were found in the bones surrounding the eye sockets. It is believe that the child was picked up by an Eagle (Talons IN THE EYE SOCKETS) and carried off to be eaten, and the remains are what was found.
2. Also, Australopithecines were prey, not predators, and were regularly apart of the Leopard's diet.
3. In Michaelangelo's "Expulsion From Paradise"
The position of Adam in Eve (to the left) is EXACTLY WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE.
That's about all I have to say for right now. I think this is the longest blog post I've done in a while. I think it was time for some more details, and less ambiguity.

The Way I See It # 480
I'm feeling really good about where I am right now:
1. I'm saving money, and I've got some goals for my saving in mind, which is exciting
2. I'm going out more and meeting new people, which is awesome
3. I'm going to yoga every week, and it's really awesome. I didn't think I would like it, but I can seriously see myself making this a real commitment, and I never thought that would happen with exercise.
4. My classes are really interesting, and I feel like even in such a short amount of time I've learned a lot. Especially in my french class; I'm already retaining information, and I'm so happy with the work that my teacher has given. It's really helping me out, and it's exciting to see myself improving.
5. I'm setting some goals for myself which I think can definitely be achieved. My plans get into action tomorrow!
I can't wait for summer. It's driving me insane. I NEED to stay in Richmond this summer.

The Way I See It # 394
I am entirely too frightened to look at my midterm grade for Urban planning. This is what wishing for harder classes gets you.... fucked up the ass. I'll have to change the way I approach that class, and this means more labor, more hours, and more tedious studying on my part. Hopefully I knock the final out, blow away my teacher with my Urban observation, and generally make up for what a clusterfuck this test was. I hope Scudder (yeah, that's my Prof.'s name!) isn't ashamed of me.
But at least it's over my head and I can for the moment breath.
I saw Misha last night and we talked (holla atcha' guuurrrll!) which was awesome!
I took my French midterm this morning and I think I did really well! At least that class is going the way it should be.
My friend Russell that I worked with at Resto. was supposed to come up this weekend for the Highland festival, but sadly won't be able to make it. Bummerrrr,
I don't know what I'm going to do now.... I guess enjoy the rest of the night. :)

The Way I See It # 393
Girl what you do what you do what you do what you do is amazing!
You got me watchin' you girl what you do is amazing!
Do what you do what you do is amazing!
You are the truth
The truth hurts
So I'm pissed about my Urban Planning Midterm. What's wrong with paper tests? I know all of you "green" people give a shit, but honestly.... at least this technology isn't dependable, obviously!
I'm just mad because when I checked back to see if I could get into the test, I was able to, but I was already past the 3 hour time limit (and my teacher knocks off a point for every minute you go over!).
Let's all let out a long guttural moan.
But other than that all I have to worry about is my French midterm tomorrow, and then my week will be over. Thank goodness. This has been really rough!

THe Way I See It # 380
The Internet at VCU isn't working for some reason, but it is working at starbucks. So I've been forced to come inside during the beautiful weather. I don't think I'll linger here after I've finished up my French lab work. Things over the last couple days have been hectic and weird. I have a lot of work coming up for my classes, and it's looming over my head. For example, this Linguistics assessment is worrying me. I think it will be fine, but I'm not sure I'm completely grasping what we're learning, and so I am worried. I'm coming to terms with the fact that I probably won't be getting straight A's this semester due to Physics which for being such an "easy" class, is rather difficult to do as well as I want to. Science just isn't my thing I guess.
I went to Harrison St. Coffee Shop with John, and that place is awesome. I don't think I had ever been to a real coffee shop before, and their Vanilla Chai was pretty darn good to boot. I'll definitely be going back. I would reccomend that you go check it out!
I don't know what I'm doing tonight. I don't feel so good today, but hopefully I feel better by tonight. Sarah Wax is out of town, I believe, but maybe I'll hit up Michele and see where she's headed to.
I think I need to go out, but I also think that I need to find things to do that don't involve the whole "Getting Wasted!" thing. I've realized that this probably isn't my "thang".
Also, I've been trying to think up ideas for Submissions to the Commonwealth Times. Their Opinion Section is kind of lacking, which means there's a good chance for publishing. Maybe I'll do that today too.

The Way I See It #370
BORED BORED BORED.
I'm going home! Yay! I'm so excited!
I need to work on my French group project, and I need to start thinking about my physics project proposal. I really need to think about that.
But I'm going home and avoiding it instead! YES. Besides, what does physics have to do with anthropology? Absolutely nothing. :)
Off to Linguistics I go, and then to see Weezy, and then back for 3 hours of urban planning! My weekend starts tomorrow at 3 PM.

The Way I See It # 327
So I'm back a day later?
I went to Ikea today with Michele, and it was a lot of fun. We went to Waffle house, which isn't fun. I had a good time, but I just don't like being at Waffle House. I don't see the charm. I see dirty tables, limp waffles, forgotten bacon, and flies..... so many flies. I'll do my best to stay away from there from now on.
I'm fitting gym time into my calendar since I want to rape this whole running routine. Yeah, I said rape. So I'm a broken record, I've said this all before... I want to get in shape, be athletic, blah blah blah whatever, you know what I'm saying.
to buy at the book store:
printer paper
HP 74 inkjet cartridge black
books for URSP and LING (when they are announced)
j'ai la classe du Francaise, le classe du physique, et Linguistique demain. Je dois Dormir!
special birthday shout out to Misha! Happy birthday girl!
